VERITY VALENTINA
Verity is a tabloid photographer for the fictional tabloid the Everglades Gazette, and for a while was taking cryptid photos of Vreeza out in the swamp before running into them by chance at the gas station. Since their disguise glows, they'd been mistaken for a ghost in the past and photographed accordingly by both Verity and some other more amateur cryptozoologists. After meeting in person, though, Verity did an official interview with them debunking the rumor. She hoped that finding the actual swamp ghost and debunking the myth would give her career the boost it needed to get her out of the tabloids and into mainstream journalism, but unfortunately, it did not.
Personality
Although she is a talented photographer with a degree in photojournalism, Verity has been unable to land a job anywhere more prestigous than the tabloids. She is nonetheless determined to move up to serious journalism, and is searching relentlessly for her big break. She's kind and well-meaning, but can get a bit overwhelmed sometimes.
History
Verity has a degree in journalism with a minor in photography. Currently, she is fresh out of college and still working the part-time tabloid photography job at the Everglades Gazette that she worked as a student, since she's been unable to find a better one. She is searching for a way to pad out her resume so she can get a job at a real newspaper, or maybe even a TV station.
The Everglades swamp ghost rumor provided easy photo opportunities for Verity for almost the whole time she worked with the Everglades Gazette. She had figured out the ghost's routine pretty well, and so any time she needed a paycheck, she could go to the swamp and there was a decent chance she'd get a ghost photo. Needless to say, she was very surprised when she ran into the "ghost" at the gas station while stocking up for her swamp trek. Although they were both initially confused, they hit it off passably well and Vreeza agreed to be interviewed. Verity hoped this would be her big break, but unfortunately, Vreeza's statements were too bizarre and confusing for that.
